All dairy producers in the south west of England (Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and the former county of Avon) are eligible to access funding through Healthy Livestock. Support of up to 70% is available to cover training, on-farm mentoring, certain diagnostic testing in relation to the priority diseases mastitis, lameness, Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) and Johne's disease. Each farm can enrol on more than one disease strand, but will need to agree to the monitoring of the improvements achieved.

Mastitis - Part-funded on-farm mentoring to improve mastitis control in your dairy herd will be available through the DairyCo Mastitis Control Plan, together with the opportunity to attend workshops to address particular issues to reduce the incidence of mastitis.

Lameness - Farms will be able to access part-funded on-farm lameness mentoring, foot trimming workshops, mobility scoring training and facilitated discussion groups.

Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) - Part-funded support is available to establish your herd's BVD status through group training, on-farm mentoring and diagnostic testing to formulate a BVD control or eradication protocol specific to your farm.

Johne's disease - Part-funded support is available to establish your herd's Johne's status through group training, on-farm mentoring and diagnostic testing to formulate of a Johne's disease control or eradication protocol specific to your farm.
